My film poster for Way Out West is the centerpiece of my loving tribute, my artwork collection dedicated to none other than the finest comedy team of all time, in my humble opinion: the great Laurel & Hardy. For myself and many Laurel & Hardy fans, Way Out West is their iconic pinnacle in feature-length film, so it was the perfect candidate for not only an art piece, but a full-blown Mod Pop Art film poster! I put a TON of time and care into this work, from the fine details of the hand-painted main character portraits and dancing silhouettes (from which I created a full-blown pattern for the background), to the vintage-style border and layout, to the carefully chosen and placed typography (which includes a painstakingly designed replica of the Way Out West font used in the main title of the film). And as I usually do, I captured my own stills from the movie to use for most of my reference images. I only hope that this translated into a poster that Laurel & Hardy fans will appreciate, as my intention was to create something that perhaps even the Boys themselves would approve of. There is a very finite supply of 100 prints in each size of this limited run, one of which is in the standard film poster size of 27x40" and looks fantastic in this large format that really features the details. Missing out on owning this work would be a fine mess indeed!
