Check out the entire Laurel & Hardy Collection!
This sort of abstract/geometric mosaic style is a new one I came up with that I haven't really seen done in this way before, so I'm glad to now have another item in my bag o' tricks! This is the "Teapot" variant of "Commence to Dancin'," my 3-piece collection of Mod Pop Art featuring Laurel & Hardy moves from the iconic dancing scene from Way Out West. I captured stills from the film for reference and then painted three pairs of silhouettes that I thought represented the scene well. Then I designed randomly-colored mosaic backgrounds using the color palette from my Way Out West poster, placed the silhouettes over the top, and adjusted coloring with each individual piece of silhouette to ensure it popped out and contrasted with the squares in the background. I think it came out pretty cool, and I hope fans of both Laurel & Hardy and mosaic art will enjoy it!
