Description

Finally, Star Wars gets the Mod Pop Art treatment! I know it took a while, but I mean, where does an artist even start, with all the possible options and angles? Turns out that for me, when I really gave it some thought, the answer was simple: Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, my first crush (and the first crush of every boy my age). Little did I know at the time that the reason was not just because she was pretty, but because she was a badass; a strong, empowered woman who took no crap, got her hands dirty on the battlefield, and never leaned on her "princess" title to gain an advantage. And these qualities exponentially grew all the way through the third trilogy, as General Organa. My goal was to honor Carrie/Leia in a work of art that hopefully captures her spirit while adding a little something extra in the way of a psychedelic color scheme (because you know I can't resist) and a classic Plaid-style color gradient background with a little semi-hidden twist. This is also my largest work to date; at a whopping 40x40", my intent is to make a HUGE impact in any room this art is placed in, no matter how grand the scope ... which is exactly what Carrie Fisher did in arguably the all-time biggest entity in the pop culture universe.
